Flame Thrower

Flame Thrower close up of bead work.

I started this piece a while back, but recently finished the last four beaded armatures. I love the warm colors and enjoyed creating the different color and pattern combinations. Look closely at the end “flame” beads too. I hope this piece warms your day as much as it did mine. Also you can see it in person May 3-July 8 at FOCI MN Center for Glass Arts in Minneapolis.

Escaping Winter

On these cold, snowy days of winter in Minnesota, one needs some color to lift our spirits and warm our souls. I looked at some exotic and tropical flowers for inspiration to help me through these past few weeks. Sitting indoors with my colored pencils and a cup of hot tea, I imagined these wonderful fantasy botanicals. I am hoping they get selected as part of a proposal I submitted. They sure brightened my day so and I would love to share the finished pieces and brighten others days as well. Wish me luck!

Chicago reception

Talking to other artists and art appreciators is so invigorating! I loved attending the MidWest Open reception at Woman Made Gallery. I meet so many women artists who discussed their work and shared their visions with me. I enjoyed getting to know the other artists, gallery staff and volunteers and made some new friends. It was wonderful to talk to the people who came to the show and wanted to discuss my work. I also loved learning about the history of the Woman Made Gallery. Events like this always fill me with energy and inspiration to create new work!
