Unveiling

Here it is the completed sculpture!  This may now be my new favorite.  With every piece you create, you want to do your best work, but some pieces are harder to let go of than others.  This will be one of those.  I love the vibrant colors and the energy and joy that it captures.  Hopefully the judges will too when I submit it for a juried show at the end of the month.

Sale

Packed everything up and delivered it to Minnetonka Center for the Arts.  Send people there for unique gifts for the holidays!  Grand opening with artists Thursday Nov 8 6-9pm.  Sale/show Nov 9 – Dec 22.

Vibrant Colors

I am not sure if it is a longing for sunshine or the beauty of the fall colors that inspired my latest sculpture.  Either way I am enjoying creating the beads and will soon have enough to put it all together…in time for a juried show entry.  The bullseye stamp has become a bit of a signature for me and I love the way the spiral flat beads repeat the shape over and over, uniting the beads and base.  I also love how vibrant and uplifting the yellow and orange look together.  Finished picture coming soon.

Back in the Studio

It has been an exciting time getting back in the studio and hot shop.  I have been blowing glass at least once a week and with a variety of partners which has been really fun.  I am busy working on blown functional work and jewelry for an upcoming holiday sale that I was accepted into.  I have been making a lot of beads in many colors and varieties.  I am also working this week on some new blown sculpture bases. Looking forward to seeing all the finished pieces!  Stay tuned for photos…
